1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how HSCR Research & Technologies ("HSCR", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal data when you visit our website, use our engineering simulators, or otherwise interact with us. We are the data fiduciary for personal data processed through this site, as that term is used under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act").

2. What data we collect

We collect the following categories of personal data:

• Contact-form and newsletter submissions: your name, email address, and any other details you choose to provide (such as institution, organization, or message content) when you fill out a form on this site.
• Account data: if you register for simulator access, we collect the email address and credentials needed to create and secure your account.
• Analytics data: with your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use this site (pages visited, general location, device/browser type, and session behaviour). GA4 cookies are only set after you accept our cookie-consent banner; see our Cookie Policy for details.

We do not collect or process any payment-card or financial-account data on this site. We do not currently process payments online.

3. How we use your data

We use personal data only for purposes you would reasonably expect, including to:

• Respond to inquiries submitted through our contact form;
• Provide, maintain, and secure simulator accounts you create;
• Send newsletter updates to those who have opted in, and let you unsubscribe at any time;
• Understand aggregate site usage to improve content and functionality, via consented analytics; and
• Meet legal and regulatory obligations.

4. Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell personal data. We may share it with service providers strictly to operate this site (for example, email delivery or analytics providers) under confidentiality obligations, or where required by law, regulation, or a valid legal process.

5. Data retention

We retain personal data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected for, or as required by applicable law, after which it is deleted or anonymised.

6. Your rights under the DPDP Act

As a data principal under India's DPDP Act, you have the right to:

• Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it is processed;
• Request correction or completion of inaccurate or incomplete personal data;
• Request erasure of your personal data, unless we are required to retain it by law;
• Withdraw consent at any time, for any processing that relies on your consent (such as newsletter emails or analytics cookies); and
• Nominate another individual to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of death or incapacity.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the data we hold, to protect it against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's data

This site is intended for use by students, professionals, and institutions, and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children without verifiable parental or guardian consent, as required under the DPDP Act.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
